DESCRIPTION:The Relaxed Afternoon is for anyone who would like to visit to the Kirkcaldy Galleries without noisy interactives and videos. The afternoon is mainly for families with neurodivergent children\, neurodivergent young people and their friends and carers but everyone else is welcome too. \nPlease note that the museum will remain open to all visitors\, but audio and video displays will be turned down or completely off\, and a Quiet Space is available for anyone who is feeling overwhelmed. \nWe are also offering some additional self-led activities on the day: \n\nPattern Block activity\nColouring-In\nA Sensory Space\nGame On – a casual board and video game club at café Wemyss\, from 5pm-6:30pm\n\nThe Relaxed Afternoon is an open session – it does not have a specific start time. Please arrive at time that suits you best. The building closes at 7pm.

DESCRIPTION:Dawnosaurs: Relaxed Morning Visit\n\n\nNeurodivergent children and their families have the opportunity to explore the museum before anyone else and enjoy activities around different themes. \n\nBook your tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 28 February and 9 May\, 08:00–10:00 \n\n\n\nFree\, booking required \n\n\n\nEast Entrance on Exhibition Road \n\n\n\n\nFamilies\n\n\nOut of hours\n\n\nRelaxed visit\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDawnosaurs is a free event for neurodivergent children\, including those with autism\, ADHD\, Tourette’s\, OCD and other sensory processing difficulties. \nEnjoy the Museum\, free from the hustle and bustle of the general public. Visitors have access to a wide range of galleries and activities supported by and led by experienced\, neurodivergent-aware facilitators. \nThis event is best for children aged five to 15\, and siblings are welcome. \nIt’s essential that all visitors book a free ticket online. DESCRIPTION:Dynamic Earth’s Relaxed Opening Hours aim to provide a calm and inclusive environment for visitors; designed for those who would benefit from a more relaxed visit\, but open to everyone. These sessions prioritise sensory comfort without compromising on the overall Dynamic Earth experience. \nWe are looking forward to our next Relaxed Opening Hours Day on Sunday 1st March 2026.  We want everyone to have the entire day to fully experience all that Dynamic Earth has to offer. That’s why our Relaxed Hours run throughout the whole day from 10am-5pm. \nDuring our Relaxed Opening Hours day\, the following adjustments are made: \n\nReduced visitor numbers throughout the day.\nAlterations to lighting and audio features.\nAdditional accessibility resources available\, including sensory bags\, social stories and sensory maps.\nDisability and neurodiversity awareness training for staff.\nCaptions on all videos\, and BSL interpretation on selected Planetarium shows.\nA wide range of sensory aids\nFlexible admission to our tour and Planetarium.\nDesignated quiet space for visitors to use.\n\nFurther information on visitor accessibility can be found here.
