However\, for this event your ticket allows you to arrive\, leave and re-enter at any time throughout the Relaxed Hours event. \nThere is a preparation story available for visitors who may benefit from preparing for the exhibition. DESCRIPTION:Relaxed Opening is a dedicated\, low-capacity session created specifically with neurodivergent visitors in mind. Held on the second Saturday of each month\, Relaxed Opening offers visitors a calm\, stress-reduced environment to explore Tower Bridge at their own pace – aiming to create a more comfortable environment to make everyone feel at ease. \nWho is Relaxed Opening for?\nRelaxed Opening is a designated time for neurodivergent individuals\, along with their families\, friends and carers. Visitors are welcome to move\, express themselves\, and engage with the space in the way that suits them best. \nWhat happens during Relaxed Opening?\n\nFurther reduced visitor numbers inside the attraction with no guided tours or group bookings\nHand dryers switched off. Disposable hand towels provided\nReduced volume of soundscapes and video\nVisitors are encouraged to explore Tower Bridge in the way that they feel most comfortable.\n\nWe also: \n\nTrain our team regularly with access awareness training\nProvide a visual story to help you plan ahead\nProvide access tool kits that contain sensory items and can help assist visitors who may benefit from distraction\, play and sensory management when feeling overwhelmed by the environment. We suggest arriving at the exact time of your timed entry. \nPlease know that our queue is outside on the Bridge which is a working Bridge and there are a lot of noise and external inputs from the road and pedestrians. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Bright and Early Relaxed Opening - Voyage to the Deep @ Horniman Museum and Gardens\, London
DESCRIPTION:Bright and Early session which is happening on Saturday 21st March 2026 from 9.00am – 11.00am. This is an early viewing for families who are unable to visit when the Horniman is busy\, including children with autism spectrum conditions or neurodiverse families. \nThis will be a relaxed opening for our new exhibition Voyage to the Deep https://www.horniman.ac.uk/event/voyage-to-the-deep-underwater-adventures/ \nThe Museum will be open exclusively for families booked onto the Relaxed Opening from 9.00am – 10.00am. The Museum will be open to the public from 10am but Voyage to the Deep and the Aquarium will be reserved just for Relaxed Opening families until 11am. \nIn the Music Gallery Performance Space we will also have a temporary display on the day: \nAutism Circle of Support – Inclusion Art Competition display \nHosted by Autism Circle of Support (ACS) https://www.autismcircleofsupport.com/ \, this display features artwork created by students across Lagos\, Nigeria\, exploring the theme “What Belonging Means to Me.” The competition was designed to celebrate neurodiversity\, amplify young voices\, and encourage families and schools to reflect on inclusion within their communities. Each piece offers a powerful and personal interpretation of belonging through colour\, creativity\, and imagination. We are proud to showcase this inspiring collection as we continue Lighting the Way for Autism Inclusion. \nYou can book free tickets by emailing communitylearning@horniman.ac.uk. Please let us know how many adult and child tickets you need. It also helps us if you let us know in advance what access requirements you or your children have and if you can include the age of your child/children. \nWhich spaces will be open \nVoyage to the Deep is in our Temporary Exhibitions Gallery\, and the Natural History Pop-up is in our Studio Gallery. Both are located on the Lower Ground Floor. \nIf you’d like a bit of rest at any point\, there is a Chill Out Space\, located in the Education Centre. The Gardens are also a nice place for some peace and quiet. \nThere are toilets on the Ground Floor\, past the Shop. There are more toilets downstairs in Gallery Square\, near the Natural History Pop-up exhibition. Please note\, some cleaning might sill take place when you first arrive. \nThe toilets in the Gardens are open before 9.00am. The Aquarium will be open from 10.00am. The Natural History Gallery is currently closed for redevelopment and is due to reopen late 2026. \n What time is the event on? \nThe main entrance\, the Voyage to the Deep and Natural History Pop-up exhibitions\, the Music Gallery\, the World Gallery\, the Chill Out Space\, the Museum’s shop\, and the inside toilets all open at the earlier time of 9.00am. \n At 10.00am the Museum opens to the public. The Aquarium and Voyage to the Deep will not be open to the public until 11.00am. \n The Chill Out Space is only available to Bright and Early visitors and will be open until 12.00pm. There is no eating or drinking allowed in the Galleries but you can eat and drink in the Chill Out Space. \n The Inclusion Art Competition display will be on display in the quiet room at the rear of the Music Gallery which will only be available to Bright and Early visitors and will be open until 12.00pm. Unfortunately\, eating and drinking is not allowed in the space. \n How do I get there? \nPlease take a look for directions on our website. DESCRIPTION:A relaxed morning event for Neurodivergent\, Learning Disabled children and their families/friends\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSkip the event ticket details and go to event summary. \n\n\n\n When\nSunday 22 March 2026 & Sunday 27 September 2026 \n09:00 – 11:00 \n\n Booking information\nTicketing for this event is £1.00 per person. \nIf you wish to remain in the Tower of London after 11:00\, you may do so. \n\nSeparate ticket (advance booking required) \nBook tickets \n\nEvents\nFamilies\n\n\nStart of the events summaryRelaxed events at the Tower of London are for Neurodivergent and Learning Disabled children & their families (5-16). \nWe welcome all families who identify as Neurodivergent or Learning Disabled including ADHD\, Autism\, Anxiety\, OCD\, Tourette’s and all other sensory and processing difficulties. \nEnjoy two hours at the Tower of London free from crowds between the hours of 9:00-11:00. \nThe event will include entry to The Tower of London\, the Crown Jewels and access to relaxed and SEN programming lead by disability aware contractors and facilitators. \nCrowd levels are limited\, and access considerations have been made to ensure you and your family can enjoy the Tower\, free from loud sound effects and harsh lighting. \nA café and retail space will also be available. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent information\nCrowd levels will be kept to a minimum for this event with only ticket holders being permitted entry during the event time slots. Ticketing is limited to 1500 people. \nLighting\, sound and general effects throughout the Tower grounds will be minimised or turned off for your comfort. \nContent warnings will be placed upon spaces that may contain material audiences may find distressing. \nAccess guides to the Tower of London are on our accessibility page. We will not ask for proof of disability or supporting documents. \nVisitors with limited mobility\nThe Tower of London is a historic building with difficult stairs and passageways – including spiral staircases – and wheelchair access is limited. There are many steps throughout the Tower with cobbles laid in some of the surfaces and pathways. There is a moving walkway (‘travelator’) alongside the Crown Jewels. Our Palace Hosts will be happy to stop the travelator. \nMobility aids\nA wheelchair is available free of charge. These cannot be pre-booked and are issued on a first-come first-served basis. It can be obtained by speaking to a member of staff on entry. \nLifts and ramps\nThere is a lift in the White Tower\, which will take you to and from the shop in the basement. This is on the north side of the White Tower\, opposite the entrance to the Crown Jewels. For safety reasons\, we can only permit one wheelchair user in the basement at a time. Please ask a member of staff in the area for assistance. \nThere is a platform lift at the end of the moving walkway in the Crown Jewels exhibition\, which allows you to access the raised platform to spend more time viewing the Crown Jewels. It is not suitable for mobility scooters. Please ask a member of the Jewel House team to use the lift.
