DESCRIPTION:Dynamic Earth’s Relaxed Opening Hours aim to provide a calm and inclusive environment for visitors; designed for those who would benefit from a more relaxed visit\, but open to everyone. These sessions prioritise sensory comfort without compromising on the overall Dynamic Earth experience. \nWe are looking forward to our next Relaxed Opening Hours Day on Friday 30th January 2026.  We want everyone to have the entire day to fully experience all that Dynamic Earth has to offer. That’s why our Relaxed Hours run throughout the whole day from 10am-3pm. \nDuring our Relaxed Opening Hours day\, the following adjustments are made: \n\nReduced visitor numbers throughout the day.\nAlterations to lighting and audio features.\nAdditional accessibility resources available\, including sensory bags\, social stories and sensory maps.\nDisability and neurodiversity awareness training for staff.\nCaptions on all videos\, and BSL interpretation on selected Planetarium shows.\nA wide range of sensory aids\nFlexible admission to our tour and Planetarium.\nDesignated quiet space for visitors to use.\n\nFurther information on visitor accessibility can be found here. DESCRIPTION:Relaxed Morning Opening\nSaturday\, 31 January 2026\n09.00 – 10.00\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\nRelaxed morning openings allow visitors to experience the Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers Museum early in the day\, when the buildings are quiet. We open an hour early to welcome visitors who may struggle in the museums at peak times. The number of visitors is capped\, which reduces ambient noise levels and how full the space is. \nThe relaxed morning openings are designed for visitors who may benefit from a calmer environment\, including those on the autism spectrum\, have additional learning needs or sensory and communication difficulties\, and anyone who feels they would benefit from this session. \nFamily members are welcome to support the visit. \nQuiet spaces are available during the opening. \nYou will be able to visit both the Museum of Natural History and the Pitt Rivers Museum during this session. \n\nAccessibility information\n\n\n\n\nWheelchair accessible?\nYes\n\n\nHearing loops?\nNo\n\n\nSeating?\nSome seating is available in the Museum\n\n\nRefreshments?\nNo\n\n\nFlashing lights?\nNo\n\n\nLoud noises?\nNo\n\n\n\n\n  \nFor more information\, please visit our accessibility webpage.
