Please note that although this is a relaxed opening there may still be noises in the Museum so please bring along ear protectors if required. DESCRIPTION:SENDsational Mornings at Tring\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent information\n\n\nAn opportunity for children with neurodiverse conditions to enjoy the Museum at a quieter time. \n2 February (desert animals) and 18 May (rainforests) \n10.00-12.00 \nFree – bookings essential \n\nBook tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are excited to present SENDsational Mornings at Tring\, Hertfordshire. \nOur SENDsational mornings offer children with neurodiverse conditions\, including autism and other sensory processing difficulties\, the chance to take part in activities and enjoy our galleries with their families and siblings away from the hustle and bustle of the general public. \nThis event is best for children aged five to 15 and siblings are welcome. \nWhat can you expect from the experience?\n\nVisitors have access to a few activities including specimen handling\, crafting and a gallery trail.\nAll activities are supported by experienced\, autism-aware facilitators.\nA sensory space will be available for those children needing a quieter and calmer space.\nAll of the galleries\, outdoor spaces and the shop will be accessible throughout the event.\nEach event has a different theme. In May it’s rainforests\, in August it’s Oceans and the theme for November is Autumn.\n\nWalk-ups are not possible – you must have a ticket. Adult tickets are limited to three per group. \nWe will email more information about your visit a week in advance\, to help you prepare for your visit. On the day you will be given a programme and map to let you know what you can do. \nThe Museum in South Kensington has been successfully running a similar event called Dawnosaurs for the past four years. \nBefore your visit take a look at our pre-visit information including a visual guide and logistics and facilities information. \n\n\nSENDsational Morning Pre-visit information PDF (184KB)\nSENDsational Morning Pre-visit visual guide PDF (2.73MB)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUseful information\n\n\n\nDoors open at 10.00.\nThe Museum opens to the public at 12.00\, and you are welcome to stay for the afternoon but it may become busy and noisy.\nYou can bring a picnic lunch which you can have in Walter’s Workshop\, the small building located in the car park.\nThere are baby changing facilities and accessible toilets.\nThe Museum is fully accessible for wheelchair and buggy access.\nMobiloo may be in attendance depending on availability. Please let us know as soon as possible if you require this facility.
