Additionally\, all videos in our galleries will be captioned and the 4pm Planetarium show includes BSL interpretation. \nAccessibility is essential to what we do at Dynamic Earth to allow everyone to discover understanding and empathy for the Earth. In addition to reduced capacity\, our standard accessibility features include additional resources such as sensory bags\, social stories\, and sensory maps. Our staff undergo disability and neurodiversity awareness training\, and we offer a wide range of sensory aids. \nFurther information on visitor accessibility can be found here. DESCRIPTION:The Relaxed Afternoon is for anyone who would like to visit to the Kirkcaldy Galleries without noisy interactives and videos. The afternoon is mainly for families with neurodivergent children\, neurodivergent young people and their friends and carers but everyone else is welcome too. \nPlease note that the museum will remain open to all visitors\, but audio and video displays will be turned down or completely off\, and a Quiet Space is available for anyone who is feeling overwhelmed. \nWe are also offering some additional self-led activities on the day: \n\nPattern Block activity\nColouring-In\nA Sensory Space\nGame On – a casual board and video game club at café Wemyss\, from 5pm-6:30pm\n\nThe Relaxed Afternoon is an open session – it does not have a specific start time. Please arrive at time that suits you best. The building closes at 7pm.

DESCRIPTION:Dynamic Earth’s Relaxed Opening Hours aim to provide a calm and inclusive environment for visitors; designed for those who would benefit from a more relaxed visit\, but open to everyone. These sessions prioritise sensory comfort without compromising on the overall Dynamic Earth experience. \nWe are looking forward to our next Relaxed Opening Hours Day on Sunday 1st March 2026.  We want everyone to have the entire day to fully experience all that Dynamic Earth has to offer. That’s why our Relaxed Hours run throughout the whole day from 10am-5pm. \nDuring our Relaxed Opening Hours day\, the following adjustments are made: \n\nReduced visitor numbers throughout the day.\nAlterations to lighting and audio features.\nAdditional accessibility resources available\, including sensory bags\, social stories and sensory maps.\nDisability and neurodiversity awareness training for staff.\nCaptions on all videos\, and BSL interpretation on selected Planetarium shows.\nA wide range of sensory aids\nFlexible admission to our tour and Planetarium.\nDesignated quiet space for visitors to use.\n\nFurther information on visitor accessibility can be found here.
