Join us for a free autism-friendly early opening of the British Library where we will be celebrating our planet as part of Earthfest 2024 (18-21 April), run by The Camden Clean Air Initiative. At this special early opening, you’ll get the opportunity to visit our Treasures of the British Library gallery, and take part in a creative workshop.

This early opening is for families with children on the autism spectrum and other sensory needs. Enjoy the Library free from the hustle and bustle of the general public. A dedicated sensory room will also be available for children needing a quieter and calmer space.

All visitors to this special early opening will receive a visual story in advance to provide an idea of what to expect on arrival. Please note that the Library opens to the public at 11.00.

This event is free and suitable for parents and carers with children aged 5–15 years and their siblings.
